Wuppertal, 10 December 2018. Schmersal has appointed Axel Schneider as its new Chief Technology Officer. The graduate in electrical engineering was previously in senior positions at international companies in the automation and telecommunications industry. During his career, he has obtained in-depth knowledge and experience in product development, network technology and industrial IT systems.  The 49 year-old has also completed various additional courses on agile product development and project and change management and is a certified Professional Scrum Product Owner. As Head of the R&D Division at the Schmersal Group, Axel Schneider will be responsible for the global coordination and reconciling of development capacities and innovation projects. “In line with Industry 4.0 and digitalisation, the speed of innovation in the industry and mechanical engineering has increased considerably. Schmersal is in a good position when it comes to product development, with more than 100 employees across seven sites worldwide. But it is still my aim to improve and accelerate the innovation processes at Schmersal further,” explains Axel Schneider. “After all, we believe that safety technology must not only keep pace with dynamic development, but also break new ground when it comes to the introduction of new technologies.”
